The Edge of Seventeen (2016)
Teen comedy with Hailee Steinfeld and Woody Harrelson, 17 years old (and how to get out alive) tells the transition from adolescence to adulthood of the young and tormented Nadine (Steinfeld). She believes no one understands her until she meets Krista (Haley Lu Richardson). A high school newcomer who becomes her best friend. But when Krista’s engagement to her brother is announced, Nadine falls back into despair and cannot seem to forgive her. Kelly Fremon’s film offers parentheses, especially family and scholastic, very funny and is an intelligent story. Which ironically addresses a difficult age for those who live it and for those who work around it.
Beware of the Klowns (2015)
Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson respectively play Josephine Chesterfield and Penny Rust, a sophisticated Englishwoman and a rampant Australian dedicated to con. The two have very different ways and methods to achieve their goals. Josephine much more sophisticated, would like to get rid of Penny, who instead is cheeky, noisy and rings a discreet mess not appreciated by her charming scion. But Penny, fascinated by Josephine’s life, wants to level up and proposes herself as a partner, asking to be able to learn all the secrets of the trade. A 2019 comedy directed by Chris Addison, Beware of Those Two offers both moments of reflection and outrageous laughter.
Murder Mystery (2019)
Another possible title for this film could be Honeymoon… with Murder. A New York cop finally takes his wife to Europe for a long-promised vacation, but things don’t go as planned. In fact, a chance meeting on the flight turns into an invitation to participate in a luxurious yacht party of the elderly billionaire Malcolm Quince. The two spouses become the prime suspects in this modern whodunit after the elderly billionaire is murdered. The protagonists of the story are none other than Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler. Who with their ridiculous and very stupid interludes manage to make the audience laugh and solve the murder.
